Protect America's Arctic Wilderness and Wildlife

The Western Arctic, much of which is contained in the National Petroleum Reserve – Alaska, is a wildlife and wilderness treasure belonging to every American. In a shockingly shortsighted move, the Bush administration announced plans to open 100% of the region’s vast 9 million-acre Northwest Area to industrial oil development.
